Follow the Leader - Testrun 2
Follow the Leader, a project commissioned by the Electrical Engineering program second year, Zuyd University of Applied Sciences. Main goal develop a system, whereby one or more cars can follow the exact path of another leader-car. To solve this problem, weve written an application for video-processing in OpenCV/C++, using a cheap web-cam. Also a diversity of algorithms were developed to create the Artificial Intelligence behavior. This test, although recorded with a crappy camera No hard feelings Sylvain, shows how the AI reacts to several noisy objects in the playing-field. The guy with the blue-pants creates a large enough blob to distract the program from following the leader-car blue. The guy on the right is not followed since his blob was nearly as small as the background noise. The second part of this video shows path coverage. As you can see, there is some delay in exact-path following, however when viewed in real-life, the cars seem to follow an exact path. Details of this project are on www.jordykuijpers.com

A scanner and printer robot combination, using NXT 2.0 Lego Bricks and NXC software
End project Robotics 2, second year bachelors course for Artificial Intelligence at Radboud University Nijmegen. We used a somewhat dull image to scan, to quickly show what the combination can do it is somewhat slow. The aim was to print in greyscale the pencil moves with a slower or stronger speed to simulate the pressure of a hand and thus draws a stronger or lighter line. With a strong speed, the red elastic on the printer head will slip away, and you thus avoid damaging the paper. Communication between scanner and printer is wireless via bluetooth.
