Mr. Hunter has been out of prison for 10 months after serving 35 consecutive years behind bars for a double homicide committed in Chicago. He was an early member of one of Chicagos most notorious gangs Vice Lords and had lived a live of extreme violence and crime. Over the last 10 months, he has been one of Dr. St. Jeans Peace Intelligence students at St. Leonards House Ministries located on the West Side of Chicago, in the neighborhood of the United Center. Mr. Hunter is convinced that he has changed his life for the better. He discusses with Dr. St. Jean the beginning of his gang involvement from the tender age of 14, and what he believes young persons need to know when they are seeking to choose gangster life as a choice. This is the first of a series of interviews that will involve Mr. Hunter and others like him as they are working closely with Dr. St. Jean to reverse the appetite for gangster life, violence and crime among segments of society in Chicago, other US cities, various Caribbean islands, and other areas of the world. Imam Asim Hussain speaks on the methodology of the pious predecessors in respects to loving the Messenger of Allah Peace be upon him and his family. A bit about Imam Hussain Imam Muhammad Asim Hussain was born on the 14th of February 1990 in the City of Bradford, West Yorkshire. The Imam began his primary education of Arabic Language at an early age of fifteen under the guidance of his spiritual teacher Mufti Qazi Hasan Raza for a year, before going to Jamia Al-Karam Retford, Nottinghamshire, UK at the age of sixteen in the year 2006. At Jamia Al-Karam, Imam Muhammad Asim under the guidance of his teachers, in particular Shaykh Muhammed Imdad Hussain Pirzada, began studying the traditional Dars-e-Nizami course over a period of three years. In July 2009 the Imam graduated and the opportunity of serving as an Imam arose through the guidance of his Shuyukh. Two weeks after his graduation he was appointed the head Imam of Al-Madina Masjid in Barking, East London, a Masjid that holds up to 2500 attendees on Jummah and Eid Prayers. He is currently the youngest serving Imam in a Masjid of this size in the United Kingdom. The Imam delivers the Friday and Eid sermons in English to accommodate the youth, he delivers regular lectures throughout the week on various issues such as fiqh, tafsir, hadith and Arabic Grammar.

Occupy ~ Spiritual Warriors, Peaceful Warriors A Commentary by EW Swan I see them in the streets as they stand, sit, or march the avenues of Boston, Atlanta, and Washington DC, in the well defined boulevards of Oakland, Phoenix and New York City. I watch as they stand a few at a time or building into a movement of a hundred thousand strong, organizing not on one issue or being pigeon-holed into another, yet all standing strong as they chant along with a drum not beating for war. Standing strong so to be heard and no longer ignored, these are the voices of the young, the old, and the middle aged citizen speaking their mind on any and all the issues enveloping our times. Issues that have been too frequently or too conveniently set aside, be it the entire array of social values evolving from decades of social action or the slow plodding of political reform.
