During the weekly non-violent protest in the village of an-Nabi Saleh on Friday several injuries were reported including that of a French citizen who was struck in the neck by an Israeli projectile. The young woman, reported to be named Amessi, was struck in the neck, initially thought to be by a tear gas canister, but later reported to be a rubber coated steel bullet. As of yet reports remain conflicted.The young woman was cut by the shot and lead to bleeding from the wound. In an April 4, 1967, appearance at the New York City Riverside Church — exactly one year before his death — King delivered Beyond Vietnam A Time to Break Silence. In the speech he spoke strongly against the USs role in the war, insisting that the US was in Vietnam to occupy it as an American colony and calling the US government the greatest purveyor of violen ce in the world today. Now, it should be incandescently clear that no one who has any concern for the integrity and life of America today can ignore the present war. At this point I should make it clear that while I have tried in these last few minutes to give a voice to th e voiceless in Vietnam and to understand the arguments of those who are called enemy, I am as deeply concerned about our own troops there as anything else. For it occurs to me that what we are submitting them to in Vietnam is not simply the brutalizing process that goes on in any war where armies face each other and seek to destroy. Former British Prime minister, Tony Blairs sister in law Lauren Booth is a Journalist and peace activist. She describes her terrific experience of visiting Palestinian Territories as a British Journalist. This is a story that we can never get from the western TVs, news papers etc. Lauren was so shocked by the unlawful, suppressive Israeli occupation in the Palestinian territories that she went there again, stayed there for months and at a certain point of time she could not get out of the territory due to the unjust and unlawful blockade of the Israel and she thought she could never see her Childs again. Her stay with the Muslims broke the misconceptions she got about the Muslim society and specifically about the womans status intentionally differently portrayed by the so-called western media over years and finally she embraced Islam as her faith. The coalition and its seven speakers came with a unified message End the School-to-Prison Pipeline in DISD. The Texas Organizing Project delivered over 800 petitions in support of a resolution for 1 DISD to recognize that children with disabilities and children of color were disproportionately disciplined, and 2 to establish a task-force with members from the community, in order to change disciplinary practices that take our children down a pipeline to prison.

The film deals with Ai Weiweis attempt to testify at the trial of a right s activist in 2009. Disturbing the Peace, a film by Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, was shown on Saturday at the Downtown Community Television Center in New York City. It was part of a film series called Contemporary China-ism Showtime. The series opened with two award-nominated films about the afterm ath of the 2008 Sichuan earthquake that killed about 70 thousand people. Ai Weiwei and his team were not able to join the panel. Earlier this year, the Chinese regime detained him for 81 days and has since put him under house arrest. The documentary follows Ai Weiweis unsuccessful attempt to testif y in the trial of Tan Zuoren. Tan was an activist who tried to investigate why schools collapsed, killing thousands of children, during the Sichuan earthquake. In 2009, he was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
