Wells Fargo Told, Big Bank Bonuses Are Outrageous
Minneapolis community advocates marched from The Peoples Plaza also known as Hennepin County Government Center to the Minneapolis Offices of Wells Fargo Bank to protest end of year big bank bonuses for executives even as they continue to foreclose homes and curtail job creation credit. In front of the bank offices, Grace Bowman, an unemployed data analyst from Minneapolis, said ?The money big banks spend on huge bonuses and give to politicians and lobbyists could be spent helping underwater homeowners instead.? The New Bottom Line coalition estimates that the seven largest US banks could write down the principal of underwater mortgages at a one-year cost of seventy-one billion which would save underwater families and average of five-hundred and forty-three dollars per month, pumping billions into the economy and creating up to one million jobs. Eleven demonstrators held signs, one-per-person, which spelled out 141083671.00 on one side, the total amount of bonus and compensation money the top five Wells Fargo executives received in 2008, 2009, and 2010, the three years immediately following the the crash. I hear that John Stumpf, CEO of Wells Fargo makes eighty-five hundred dollars an hour. With that amount of money here in Minneapolis we could feed a thousand people for a month, house eight families, and fund a safe-zone after school program, said Vaughn Lodge, of the American Indian movement.

This land is Your Land....
Listen to the words of the song...and notice how the song unselfishly puts others first, by saying Your Land, Before it says, My Land. If The Occupy movement to was follow these words in truth, then we should be helping Native American Nations RE-OCCUPY the lands that have been stolen from them through various sinister schemes over the centuries.... When we first came here, the Indigenous Man HELPED US OCCUPY their land...with the same spirit that is given voice to in the first part of this song. Then our government became crazed with geed and manifest destiny and began going BERSERK with insatiable LUST for everything in its path....and it began to double-deal and swindle the Indians. When they resisted, we began to use biological warfare, the infantry and the cavalry. We marched them to death, men women and children alike. We gave them reservations and then took lands back and took lands back....they have tried to be good, they have tried to be friends, and they have had their faces spat in, figuratively and literally, over and over again. If the Occupy movement is ever going to accomplish anything, it will not be through the political process...it will be through occupation. Rather than waste our time and energies camping in places where we are unwanted, why not go camping somewhere where we are wanted? Like disputed Indian territories that were stolen from our freinds and brothers who have bravely declared solidarity ...

This Land is Your Land, AIM
This song is dedicated to Clyde Bellecourt and the American Indian Movement. Thank you for declaring your solidarity and I hope that Occupy respects your endorsement and weighs it with the due gravity it deserves. I believe that your group, and the American Indians before you throughout this nations abusive and criminal history, are the first Occupants in America, and therefore our predecessors as well. I hope that Occupants nationwide choose to try to set matters straight in this country, historically, and work together with AIM to begin doing that. Instead of getting chased out of parks that dont matter...we could be helping the Indians to stake claims to lands that are rightfully theirs and were stolen by either swindle or breech of contract in the lesser, and murder, biological warfare, genocide, and the wholesale slaughter of unarmed men women and children in the latter. Then we could work on reparations for African Americans, their 40 Acres and a Mule, if you will, and THEN perhaps re-institute some Homestead claims, and THEN, after everone else who has been in line ahead of us gets their, then we get ours...NO CUTTING IN LINE

Red Earth Rising - extended trailer
Red Earth Rising is a feature-length documentary about Native resistance to revisionist history. Set in Oklahoma during its100th year of statehood, cannons fire, drum rolls sound, and the clacking of hooves and wooden wagon wheels clamor through towns and cities in a theatrical display of Oklahomas colonial past. As this giant centennial birthday party overtakes streets and public school yards with heroic tales of settler conquest, an intertribal coalition of American Indians--fed up with white-washed history--bands together to find a collective voice, a spirit of resistance and power in numbers. Along their journey, they encounter deep-seated racism, public ignorance and historical trauma from the not-so-distant past. But through it all, a new Native movement emerges that embraces red history as it stakes its claim on the Oklahoma landscape. www.redearthrising.com http Director Erin McCarley Producer Juan Diaz Trailer running time 9min.
