The Su-37 is a super-maneuverable thrust vectoring russian fighter derived from an Su-35 prototype. This demo shows the pilot literally throwing 20 tons of military metal in the sky. Two Lyulka AL-37FU vectored-thrust afterburning turbofans (30855 lb thrust each) give this aircraft it's extreme flight caracteristics that are above the flight envelope of almost any fighters curently in service in the world. The AL-37FU engines are configured for thrust vector control, with the axisymmetric steerable thrust vector control nozzle is fixed on a circular turning unit. The steel nozzle in the experimental engines is replaced in production engines by titanium units to reduce the weight of the nozzle. The nozzle only moves in the pitch axis, and the nozzles on the two engines can deflect together or differentially to achieve the desired thrust vector for a particular maneuver. The Su-37 has a variety of other innovative equipment such as a radar configured for simultaneous surveillance of airspace and the ground and a high-precision laser-inertial/satellite navigation system. The all-weather digital multi-mode phased array radar operates in either air and ground surveillance modes or in both modes simultaneously. Ground surveillance modes include mapping (with Doppler beam sharpening), search-and-track of moving targets, synthetic aperature radar and terrain avoidance. This is my poison-cousin, the one and only Larry Gurruwiwi aka Prince of Didgeridoo, an extraordinary talent and son of famed didgeridoo craftsman my grandfather Djalu Gurruwiwi. In north-east Arnhem Land where cuz and granddad come from, the didgeridoo is known as the 'yirdaki'. You might also sometimes see it spelt 'yidaki'. Currently, in the year 2011, 'mandapul' has also come into use due to a senior elder passing away with a name that sounds like 'yirdaki'. To see Larry as he is in late 2011, check out this clip in 3D HD :) You'll need your 3D red-blue glasses though, they're cheap to buy like less than $3 on eBay and elsewhere on the internet, or if you can't wait for your 3D glasses to arrive through the post, make your own from an old disused pair of sunglasses. Punch out the current lenses. Replace them with one red and one blue cellophane "lens" and there you go, your own unique one-off custom 3D glasses. You can get cellophane in art and craft stores, or use Google, your best online friend on do-it-yourself instructions on anything, plus the handiest locator of the closest source for goodies. For those out their who have been eagerly awaiting for the upcoming Thundercats movie to arrive, we have a special holiday treat for you: the first trailer for Thundercats is here! Ok if youre the type who reads the headings of these posts before the actual article, then you (should) already know that what has actually had people across Web yelling Ho! recently (aside from all the digital pimps out there trying to earn Xmas bonuses), is in fact a fan-made Thundercats trailer, which ispretty entertaining. The trailer was made by San Francisco graphic artist WormyTV, the same artist responsible for past photoshop classics like The Dark Knight teaser (which featured the first real image of Heath Ledger as the Joker), and the now infamous Spider-Man 3 gif (which featured the first real image of Venom). According to Wormy, Thundercats: Sword of Omens took a year and a half to produce. The trailer splices together an array of identifiable films, including Aliens, Troy, The Chronicles of Riddick, Garfield, Spy Kids, X-Men: The Last Stand, Galaxy Quest, Underworld, Planet of the Apes, Mortal Kombat Annihilation, Stargate, and (what looks to be) Mad Max. Its impressive mashup of clips; add to that the painstaking frame by frame photoshop work needed to transform Brad Pitt into Lion-O, Hugh Jackman into Tigra, and Vin Diesel into PanthroLets just say that Wormy deserves serious props for this (highly amusing) achievement.
