My modern bathroom DIY reno in 1955 house.. cool tips and tricks, gadgets and STUFF
Getting close to completing my bathroom renovation under way for like 5 months The floor is wicked too, its vinyl and fibreglass, about 3/8 thick 4 credit cards or so and very soft.. it stays warm all the time and feels great to stand on. Worth looking into Note NOT padded lino... its fibreglass/vinyl... much better. Ive learned SO much doing this I just wish I had more money lined up when I started so i could have gotten it done faster. Working night shift for a while there didnt help either.

TileGo How to tile
Professional tiler shows tiling tips, tilego.com Cathal shows how to quickly set up and start tiling. Tiling a bathroom or shower has never been easier. TileGo makes the art of wall tiling faster, easier, more accurate and a lot safer. No wooden battens needed. Cathal was featured on the Dragons den and was offered an investment for this great idea. The conventional tile dates back to about 900BC, and the technique of fixing tiles to walls has not changed much since then. A level surface must be provided in order to start tiling. Very often, your floor or shower tray is not level The most common method used to create this level surface, is to position a wooden batten which is a long, thin strip of wood, used in construction and cabinet making using a spirit level and then hammer it into a wall. Tiles are then laid on top of the batten and tiling begins. This method is dangerous, expensive and inconvenient. Safer When securing wooden battens onto walls, it is necessary to use nails or screws. This is a high risk job which can lead to burst water pipes, pierced electrical wires, damaged air conditioning ducts, punctured vapour barriers and holes in the wall. For houses with solid wood floors the damage caused by a burst pipe can be very expensive. Not only will the floor have to be replaced, the skirting boards have to be removed and as a result all the walls redecorated not to mention replacing ceilings for when pipes are bu...
