Beautiful car then...and it still is. It was Spring of 1978. Twenty-three year old Sergei Romanoff Chauffeur'd the winners of the CBC Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada Contest...A Night to Remember. CBC's Ernie Mutimer producer, Don Caput on the 16mm Film Camera, Malabar's supplied the amazing authentic wardrobe with a white silk scarf, no less. Ernie, don't get too annoyed about me calling your wife by her personal private nick name, I couldn't resist. It suits her so well and it's easy to remember. Remember'd after 35 years. I remember the day it ran on CBC TV, I was working as a Display Advertising Rep at the Saskatoon Star Phoenix and the entire Advertising Staff went to the Park Town for a drink and watched this clip on the News with John Drewrey doing an Ad Libito Voice Over Film. I forgot the names of the winners. If anyone knows, please drop me a note to youTube or my email address romanoff@sasktel.net Funny how The Night to Remember Contest turned out to be something to TRY to remember 35 years later. Shake a Little Tail Feather was recorded live at Bessborough Park 2006 for the Jazz Festival. I was singing with the Rick Zona Project and playing my heart out on the piano at the same time.

Here's the news article with photos about the events: www.chicagotribune.com I keep saying yesterday and just uploaded this video today (2/8/2012). By yesterday, I mean 2/3/2012, as I went to the scene on 2/4. I wasn't able to edit the video or make it public until today, so I apologize. But this is the aftermath of a 7-car derailment of a Canadian Pacific train that was coming off a belt railway at Cicero and Grand. The derailment happened closest to North Leclaire Avenuen and West Homer Street, at approximately 1950 North Leclaire Avenue, Chicago, IL 60639 (if you wanna GoogleMap or MapQuest it). The derailment itself happened at about 0900 CST on Friday, February 3rd, 2012. While 7 cars came off the tracks, only three were severely damaged and not re-railed and moved from the scene. Those are the three cars you see in this video. I hope you enjoy it (I was freezing!), hope it's not too long. Thanks for watching!

So I had my camera and tripod in the car and decided to see how well it would work during a drive. Also wanted to find out how the acoustics and background noise would sound. Tripod fell over a few times. Think I have an idea for solving that problem. Should try this a night too.
