The squealing noise happened after I sprayed prestone belt conditioner on the serpentine belt. A mechanic told me that stuff is for older belts that are dry not new ones it just makes them squeal (didn't see that fine print on the bottle...really crappy). it's 38 degrees outside and i just started the truck and thats vapor coming out of the pipe (anybody that knows what they are talking about could confirm this due to the water droplets falling off the pipes when i revved it). A fresh oil and filter with new AC Delco plugs gapped to .046", 350 cid motor is all orginal.The motor was rebuilt around 7 or 8 years ago by The Engine Exchange located in Bristol Penn., who are now out of business. It was bored 30 over with new molly rods and a "step-up" cam. I bought this car back in 1985 for $1500,I'm the 3rd owner which the 2nd owner only had the car for around 5 weeks.He had to sell it because he bought the car for a gift for his girlfriend,in which she already bought another car not telling the boyfriend to be a surprise. He and his friend bought the car from a lady in New Jersy who was widdowed and could not drive. The car sat in garage from 1980 until 1985,her husband bought it new in 1970,he passed I believe in 1979 or 1982,I'm not 100% but I would like to take the car to her sometime soon,I'm certain she will be amazed! The car was orginally a Chevy Bronze or simply Gold color with orginal vinal roof. The 2nd owner also was a car painter/body tech.,in which he told me that him and his buddy pulled the car into his shop on a Friday night after work,stripped the car body down and then painted it all white leaving the vinal top intact.He also stated that there was a 1972 or around that yr., a Cutlass Oldsmobile 442 out back sitting, same body style,they removed the fender chrome strips,wheels,and installed them onto the Chevelle.I'l have to look at the build sheet again to determine if the car had these already and maby they decided to put on ...
